Board of Directors Candidate Statements

16 Dec 2009 was the deadline for people to submit their names for candidacy.  In declaring candidacy for the Board of Directors of our HOA, some candidates chose to make a simple statement to that effect, and some have elaborated.  The names and statements are provided below, in alphabetic order:

Statement of Bob Furtado:

I am glad to put my name in the hat to be a board member. My only bumper sticker statement would be around ensuring our homeowners receive value for their contributions to the HOA. I guess I see myself as a fiscal conservative and will work for the homeowners to ensure we maintain our community while still looking for ways to save each of us some money. Honestly, I have very little experience with HOA, but will rely on my 20 years of leadership training at Booz Allen and Hamilton and the Federal Government to ensure the board maintains transparency in our actions and rulings.

Statement of Norman Griest:

I declared as a candidate for the Board of Directors of the Valley Springs HOA because I believe the knowledge and skills I have accumulated can considerably help the HOA to achieve the things it needs to – in an effective, efficient, and timely manner.  Information re: status/history/plans/requirements relating to actions/expenditures/problems that have to be dealt with for the community should – in this day and age – be just a click or an e-mail away, and that’s what I would attempt to bring about. There is no reason anybody should feel like they are in the dark about a single thing that the HOA is doing.

Statement of Douglas Martin:

I am a candidate for the Valley Springs HOA Board of Directors.

Statement of Suzanne Martin:

I would like to be considered as a candidate for the Valley Springs HOA Board of Directors.

Statement of Sandy Regan:

I am a candidate for the Valley Springs HOA Board of Directors.
We have a ‘one of kind’ neighborhood, filled with wonderful people where most everyone knows each other. I would like to see our community continue to be an exciting and vibrant place to live with all resident’s voices heard and responded to on issues or concerns that arise. I believe open and honest communication between the Board of Directors and the residents of Valley Springs is an essential part of a healthy HOA.

Statement of Tim Sedmak:

I am a candidate for the Valley Springs HOA Board of Directors
